NIGHTMARES FOR A WEEK (Kingston, NY) started in 2008 over some beers on the back porch and a few old friends.
NFAW released their debut EP, A Flood Tomorrow in 2009, produced by John Naclerio (My Chemical Romance, Senses Fail, Polar Bear Club) at Nada Recording Studios in New Windsor, NY. After releasing the EP on Music for End Times, Naclerio signed the band to his own Broken English Records for digital distribution.
Named as one of Alternative Press magazine’s 100 Bands to Watch in 2010, NFAW released their debut LP, Don't Die in late 2010 which featured guest appearances from Walter Schreifels (Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand, Rival Schools) on now defunct Brooklyn-based label, Academy Fight Song. 2011 saw the release of a brand new track entitled "Doomsday Party" that appeared on a split 7" with veteran indie rockers JOSHUA (Doghouse Records) as the debut release by Miami, FL label Limited Fanfare. A year later in 2012, the band released the "Nightmares Split" with Nightmare Of You via Paper + Plastick Records, founded by Less Than Jake's drummer Vinnie Fiorello. In 2013, the band released their much acclaimed Sophomore LP, "Civilian War" via Suburban Home Records (Drag The River, Joey Cape, Tim Barry). The next year, in 2014, NFAW teamed up with Black Numbers Records and released a split 12" with New Jersey's Banquets.
Now in 2018, Boneshaker Records is thrilled to announce the release of Nightmares for a Week’s third full length LP , CELEBRATIONS. It will be the band’s first full length release since 2013’s acclaimed LP, Civilian War. CELEBRATIONS will be available October 5th, 2018 on all digital platforms and 180G 12” white vinyl.
CELEBRATIONS was recorded and produced by the band at Nada Recording Studio (Montgomery, NY) with additional tracking at the band’s studio, Leaning Tree Recording. The album was mixed and mastered Chris Dugan (Iggy Pop/Green Day). CELEBRATIONS will see a limited release of (200) 180G 12” vinyl with screen printed jackets printed by Boneshaker. In the past, NFAW has reached out to its close-knit community of artists to put the finishes touches on their efforts and CELEBRATIONS is no exception with Kingston, NY’s Ryan Williams (A Subtle Difference Design) providing the album’s art.
